ASP is a student-initiated student run retention project at University of California, Los Angeles that works to retain, empower, and cultivate ALL Black Bruins of the Afrikan diASPora. We do this through our 4 main components, peer counseling, mentorship, peer learning, and internship.
We are one of the 30+ organizations in the Harambe Council under the Afrikan Student Union at UCLA. Our mission is to make sure all Black Bruins are not only graduating, but graduating with the tools, skills, and confidence to navigate life outside of UCLA through the educational, holistic, and student empowerment that they develop through ASP! We work with incoming students, transfer students, students on academic probation, students with academic difficulty, students who are highly involved on campus, dismissed students seeking readmission, and more!
